Bacolor, one of the oldest towns in the Philippines, had its first church built in 1576 by Augustinian friars.
Rebuilt in 1897 by Fr. Manuel Diaz, it boasts advanced Baroque and Rococo decorations.
Despite being half-buried by Mount Pinatubo's 1991 eruption, the church remains a place of worship and a tourist attraction, with efforts to preserve its features ongoing.
