SANTA CATALINA DE ALEXANDRIA CHURCH
Historical Fact:
  • In 1607, Porac became part of Bacolor, later exempted from rent payments due to poverty.
  • The church, constructed by Frs. Manuel Obregon (1726) and Nicolas Mornier (1735), faced destruction in 1863 and was restored by Frs. Isidoro Fernando and Esteban Ibeas.
  • Damaged again in World War II, Fr. Daniel Castrillo oversaw its restoration.
  • A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Luzon on April 22, 2019, severely damaging the church and collapsing the belfry.
  • After restoration, the church reopened on April 22, 2022.
