In 1607, Porac became part of Bacolor, later exempted from rent payments due to poverty.
The church, constructed by Frs. Manuel Obregon (1726) and Nicolas Mornier (1735), faced destruction in 1863 and was restored by Frs. Isidoro Fernando and Esteban Ibeas.
Damaged again in World War II, Fr. Daniel Castrillo oversaw its restoration.
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Luzon on April 22, 2019, severely damaging the church and collapsing the belfry.
After restoration, the church reopened on April 22, 2022.
