Became an independent parish in 1782. The current church initiated in 1894 by Recollect Fr. Valentin Utande & completed in 1925 by Rev. Fr. Emiliano Veloso, replaced the ruins of an older church, possibly built by Jesuits before 1768. The church features unique 1920s ceiling artwork.
